ANF Recovers Over 852kg Drugs, Arrests Six

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan seized over 852 kilograms of drugs and arrested six suspects in 10 countrywide operations, the department’s spokesperson said on Monday.

ANF North conducted a raid near Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza and recovered 60 kilograms of hashish and 120 kilograms of opium from a car as well as detained three drug smugglers, including a woman, he said.

Another 445 grams of heroin was recovered from a parcel booked for Canada in another operation at a private courier company office in Rawalpindi.

In another raid at a private courier company office in Lahore, the department recovered 880 grams of ketamine from a parcel booked for America. In another operation, 1,514 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of a Dubai-bound passenger at Sialkot Airport who was a resident of Gujrat.

ANF and FC joint operation

ANF and FC in a joint operation in Taftan Balochistan recovered 350 kilograms of opium and 200 kilograms of hashish. Meanwhile, 17,700 intoxicated tablets were recovered from the place near Zero-Line Torkhum Border.

In two more raids jointly conducted in Khyber by ANF and FC, 52.5 kilograms of hashish and 3.5 kilograms of Ice were recovered.

In another operation, the department recovered 10.8 kilograms of hashish from the possession of another suspect arrested from North Nazimabad in Karachi. ANF spokesperson said that the arrested accused was also wanted in other cases.

ANF registers cases against suspects

The spokesman said that separate cases had been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway.
