ANF Recovers 78 kg Drugs in Eight Operations

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized more than 78 kg drugs and apprehended eight accused while conducting eight operations in different parts of the country.

An ANF Headquarters spokesman said in a statement on Friday that five kg heroin and six kg hashish were recovered from secret cavities of a vehicle intercepted near Motorway Toll Plaza Islamabad. Two suspects, residents of Peshawar and Khyber, were apprehended during the operation.

In an operation in Peshawar, twenty-one kg heroin was seized from a house near Masri Khan Chowk. During the operation, the accused resident was also arrested.

In another operation in Mansehra, three hundred grams hashish was seized from the possession of a local drug dealer near Baidri Chowk.

In another operation conducted in Sialkot, ANF officials recovered heroin from a parcel booked at a courier office. Five kg heroin hidden in surgical goods was being smuggled to Canada.

The spokesperson said that in an operation at Multan Airport, thirty heroin-filled capsules were seized from the possession of a passenger who was going to Sri Lanka.

Operation in Gojra

Officials recovered 20.4 kg hashish and 19.2 kg opium from a Honda car intercepted near Gojra Interchange. In another operation, an accused resident of Swat was taken into custody.

He said that ANF carried out an operation at a courier office at Jinnah International Airport Karachi, where it seized eight hundred grams Ice drug hidden in flag sticks. The parcel was booked for Qatar.

In another operation conducted in Hub, ANF recovered four kg heroin and one kg Ice drug from a bus intercepted near Vinder area. During the operation, two accused were apprehended who belonged to Turbat,
