PESHAWAR: Contact with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was re-established after seven hours, local media reported. Media reports suggest that he arrived at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar on Wednesday.
According to media reports, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that he was holding meeting with top government officials in Islamabad. His return to the provincial capital has been confirmed by his brother Faisal Amin Gandapur and other leaders on social media. Faisal Amin Gandapur said that he had reestablished contact with the CM, and his mobile phone was now back online following the seven hours. Prior to this, there was speculation as well as concern over the Chief Minister’s whereabouts. Barrister Saif had also expressed concerns about his possible arrest.
Earlier on Monday, Islamabad police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, MNA Sher Afzal Marwat, and MNA Shoaib Shaheen outside Parliament House. As per reports they were arrested because of violations committed during last night’s rally. The violations include breaching commitments, disrupting the agreed route, attacking Islamabad police, exceeding permitted timings, and delivering anti-state speeches.
