RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: AIPS ASIA and the Saudi Sports Media Federation (SSMF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) under which both organizations will work together for the promotion and development of sports journalism, especially the capacity-building of young sports journalists, across Asia.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at a local hotel in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh. The agreement was signed by AIPS ASIA President Hee Don Jung and SSMF President Jabr Mohammed Al Shaigi.

AIPS President Gianni Merlo, AIPS ASIA First Vice President Adel Al Zahrani and AIPS ASIA Secretary General Amjad Aziz Malik were also present at the occasion.
‘KSA the new center of international sports events’
SSMF President Al-Shaigi said that Saudi Arabia has become the center of international sports events, adding that he is glad that his federation will work together for the betterment of sports journalism all over Asia.
AIPS ASIA President Hee Don Jung said the agreement with SSMF is very important. He said that the agreement will help in the development of sports journalism, alongside the capacity building of young sports journalists. He called the MoU “a very important step,” and thanked the office bearers of the Saudi Sports Media Federation for it.

As per the newly signed agreement, the SSMF will also hold an annual congress and executive committee meeting of AIPS ASIA in Saudi Arabia.
