MOSCOW: Next Moscow Format meeting on Afghanistan will take place on September 29 in Kazan where focus will be on inclusivity of Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan, confirmed Special Presidential Representative for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov.
“So far, we have seen [no progress on this issue]. This is why we convene, in order to continue our work,” Kabulov said.
The agenda of the meeting include counterterrorism and drug-related activities in the region.
Afghanistan has already confirmed its participation in the meeting.
The special representative stated that about half of the participants have confirmed their availability. “We are waiting for the rest, there is enough time,” he said.
The earlier Moscow Format meeting on Afghanistan took place last year in November.
The agenda was formed in 2017 in order to promote the process of national understanding in Afghanistan and other countries attending the meeting include India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
