ISLAMABAD: Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid in the Indian illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has strongly condemned the prolonged house detention of its leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Kashmir Media Service reported that the Mirwaiz had been house arrested since August 05, 2019. The Anjuman in Srinagar said on Saturday in a statement that it was the 194th consecutive Friday when Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was not allowed to offer Friday prayer and other religious obligations, which is extremely condemnable and sad.
It said people of Kashmir from all walks of life are unable to understand why occupied Kashmir’s top public and religious leader has been kept under continuous detention. The statement added why Mirwaiz was prohibited from carrying out his peaceful activities.
On his death anniversary, the Anjuman paid a beautiful homage to Khwaja Abdul Salam Dalal, a close friend and colleague of Maulana Muhammad Yousuf Shah (RA), the Mufaisr-e-Qur’an Mirwaiz.
It also expressed sorrow on the passing of Mohammad Aslam Fazili, a deeply cherished member of the Mirwaiz family and a kind and well-wisher of the Anjuman. The deceased died in the United States.
The Anjuman expressed sympathy to Muhammad Aslam Fazili’s grieving family and prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous for the deceased’s soul and patience for the grieving family. — APP
