At least 66 protestors were arrested on Tuesday evening when the protest demonstration against the law turned violent. The proposed controversial law, would class media groups and non-government entities as “foreign agents” if they obtain more than 20 percent of their finance from foreign nations. Critics were of the view that a similar law passed in Russia, where all individuals and organizations receiving financial assistance from foreign nations are declared “foreign agents”.
