Saudi Arabia: 5 Million Captagon Pills Seized by Security Forces in Riyadh

RIYADH: Officials in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) said on Thursday that about 5 million Captagon pills were seized by security personnel in Riyadh.

The spokesperson for the General Directorate for Narcotics Control, Major Muhammad Al-Nujaidi confirmed that the security forces seized 4,962,000 amphetamine tablets in Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh. He added that the amphetamine tablets were concealed in a shipment of cables.

He maintained that a foreign citizen identified as Syrian was arrested, and legal actions were also taken against him. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the case has been shifted to Public Prosecution.

The value of the amphetamine tablets was not revealed, but according to global estimates, the haul has a street value of about $70 million.
