ISLAMABAD: Even while standing in front of Kim’s building, a Saudi coffee chain now open in Pakistan’s capital city Islamabad, the smell of freshly baked coffee and phrases of Arabic songs are hard to miss. Shiny traditional pots of Arab world are on display inside the busy cafe. The wall toward the left of the coffee shop displays a mural painted with notable events from the several countries where Kim’s has branches across the world, including KSA, the UK, Tunisia, Egypt and now Pakistan.

Several Middle Eastern restaurants and cafes are providing services in the capital city of South Asian country. People can visit the UAE’s Shaghf café, KAF, Arz Lebanon, and Serai Bistro and order their favorite middle eastern foods. KAF is famous for Arabic Qahwa, which was started by three Pakistani fellows in 2021.
Kim’s was opened in Islamabad in November 2022, and many people often visit the Saudi coffee chain to take Arabic coffee. The coffee is prepared with a mix of herbs like cloves, cardamom, and saffron, served in a traditional pot called a dallah.

GM of Kim’s coffee in Islamabad told Arab news that the Arabic coffee beans are made and roasted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and then brought here. Though the interior of the café is accurately designed, it is the taste and aroma of the coffee that many visitors said had drawn them in.
A lady Amna said that the aroma of this coffee shop forced her to visit it, and she termed the taste of the coffee as unique.
Muhammad Saifullah said that the Arabic coffee has different flavors like cardamom and saffron, and it is served with a side of dates which makes it totally different from the European coffees. Saifullah expressed happiness in exploring this place in Islamabad as a few coffee houses in Pakistan serving real Arabic coffee.
The menu of Kim also includes European blends, cappuccino, lattes, mochaccino and teas across the world with reasonable price.
