WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden has said that they are “going to take care of” a suspected Chinese balloon, US media reported on Saturday.

He made his remark in response to a question about whether or not the US would shoot down the suspected spy balloon, which has been flying across the US in what Biden administration calls a “clear violation” of its country’s sovereignty.

After the development, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also postponed a trip to Beijing.

The US President did not elaborate on what was planned. Officials said that top military leaders considered shooting down of the balloon but did not approve it due to the risk of falling wreckages.

Beijing regretted that an “airship” used for civilian meteorological and scientific purposes had drifted into United States (US) airspace.

The US Defense officials claimed on Friday that another suspected Chinese balloon was observed over Latin America, without giving any detailed information.
