ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s technology industry is seeking to expand its footprint in the Nordic market, with a delegation of around 30 technology leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators visiting Norway to explore business opportunities and establish partnerships with Scandinavian companies.
The four-day visit to Oslo Innovation Week 2026 was organised by the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) as part of its efforts to strengthen international business ties and increase the country’s IT exports.
Led by P@SHA Director of Marketing and Outreach Kheezran Khan, the delegation engaged with Norway’s innovation ecosystem through more than 100 specialised sessions covering artificial intelligence (AI), deep technology, clean technology, health technology and the blue economy, according to The AZB.
Delegation visits Norwegian parliament
During the second day of the visit, the Pakistani delegation was invited to the Norwegian Parliament, where Member of Parliament Farukh Qureshi welcomed the participants.
Fredrik Syversen of TEK Norge also helped open the session, which brought together representatives of the Pakistani and Norwegian business communities to explore opportunities for cooperation in the technology sector.
Target to triple IT exports
Khan described the visit as part of P@SHA’s broader Strategy 2031, which aims to triple Pakistan’s IT sector exports to $15 billion by the financial year 2030-31.
The initiative seeks to strengthen the international presence of Pakistani technology companies and help them secure business opportunities in high-value overseas markets.
Previous engagement with Norway
P@SHA has previously engaged with Norway’s technology sector through participation in Oslo Innovation Week in 2023, which helped initiate business negotiations.

In 2025, the association, TEK Norge and Pakistan’s embassy in Norway also jointly organised a Pakistan Night networking event in Oslo, bringing together businesses and information and communications technology (ICT) professionals. Several Pakistani companies showcased their products and services during that year’s event.
Follow-up on business opportunities
Following this year’s visit, participating companies are pursuing the business leads and potential partnerships established during their engagements in Norway.
P@SHA will continue facilitating these efforts through its Brand and Global Outreach and Digital Export and Growth committees. The Nordic region, known for its advanced digital economies, offers opportunities for Pakistani technology companies seeking to expand their international presence.
The success of the initiative, however, will depend on translating the business contacts and discussions initiated during the visit into concrete partnerships and export contracts.
