SANAA: Yemen’s armed forces say they have neutralised 324 Houthis and commanders in 982 military operations over the past 24 hours, as fighting intensifies across several fronts.
Army spokesman Colonel Majed al-Nuzaily announced the figures in a statement posted on X on Thursday, describing the operations as part of the ongoing Dawn of Yemen offensive against the Houthi militia.
According to the spokesman, the operations involved fighter jets, drones, field artillery and rocket launchers targeting Houthi reinforcements, command centres, field commanders, sniper positions, weapons sites and supply routes.
He said 108 military and armoured vehicles, along with medium and heavy weapons, had been destroyed or damaged.
Fighting in Taiz
In the southwestern province of Taiz, government forces and allied resistance fighters continued to repel Houthi attempts to advance and regroup, al-Nuzaily said.
He added that troops were targeting Houthi reinforcements and concentrations with air and artillery support while consolidating positions they had gained.
The operations combined defensive and offensive measures aimed at weakening Houthi military capabilities and preventing further advances, he said.
Multiple Fronts
Fighting was also reported east of the capital, Sanaa, including in the provinces of al-Jawf, Marib and al-Bayda, as well as on southern and southwestern fronts.
Government forces targeted Houthi movements, fortifications, troop concentrations and weapons positions in these areas, according to the spokesman.
He said military units were also clearing landmines and improvised explosive devices allegedly planted by Houthi fighters, which he described as a continuing threat to civilians.
Al-Nuzaily said Yemen’s armed forces remained committed to conducting military operations in accordance with international humanitarian law and taking precautions to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
