RIYADH: Spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki Al-Malki on Monday said that three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted and destroyed in Riyadh and the southern regions of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Earlier today, the Coalition destroyed two ballistic missile launchers in Sanaa, one of which was used to launch a ballistic missile towards Riyadh, the coalition’s spokesperson said.

Major General Turki Al-Malki said operations were continuing to dismantle the Houthi militia’s ballistic missile network, SPA reported.

In another statement, the Coalition spokesperson Al-Malki stated that air defences intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia toward Riyadh.

Arab Interior Ministers Council Condemns Houthi Attacks

The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers on Monday strongly condemned Houthi attacks involving missiles and UAVs targeting civilians, civilian infrastructure, and holy sites in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement issued from its headquarters in Tunis, the secretariat also denounced the Houthis’ recent attempt to target the Makkah and Madinah regions with ballistic missiles, which were intercepted and destroyed by Saudi air defences.

The secretariat described the attacks as a flagrant violation of international law, a serious breach of the sanctity of holy sites and an affront to the sentiments of Muslims worldwide. It further warned that such actions reflected the Houthis’ continued attempts to undermine regional security and stability, SPA reported.

The secretariat reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its territory and holy sites, maintain its security and stability, and safeguard the lives and safety of citizens and residents.

Pakistan condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Earlier, Pakistan also strongly condemned the Houthi ballistic missile attacks targeting the Makkah and Madinah regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including areas in the vicinity of the Holy Sites.

The Foreign Office, in a statement on Monday, said these reprehensible attacks constitute a grave violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and demonstrate a blatant disregard for the sanctity of Islam’s holiest sites and the safety of civilians.

It reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its firm commitment to the Makkah Alliance.

“Pakistan reaffirms its steadfast support for the security, stability and defence of the Kingdom, including the protection of the Two Holy Mosques, against any external aggression or threat,” the statement said.

It said Pakistan also commends the vigilance and efficiency of Saudi air defence forces in countering the attacks.
