Major Wajahat’s martyrdom
During one of the operations, the lead force component, led by Major Wajahat Waheed, 34, a resident of Lahore, came under an improvised explosive device attack.
“Major Wajahat Waheed, a son of the soil, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and embraced shahadat,” the ISPR said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, intelligence agencies had reported multiple hideouts of Indian-sponsored Fitna al Hindustan in the areas of Shadi Kaur in Pasni tehsil of Gwadar district and Jattakabad in Kalat district, posing a threat to the local population.
According to the ISPR, security forces launched operations to protect residents and clear the areas of terrorists.
In a separate operation, conducted on October 18 in Jattakabad, Kalat district, troops effectively engaged a terrorist location.
Following an intense exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed, while a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered, the ISPR said.
Sanitisation operations will continue to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the affected areas, it added.
