RIYADH: Official Spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki Al-Malki said that two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi group toward Saudi Arabia’s Dhahran and Haradh were intercepted and destroyed.

In a statement, Al-Malki noted that debris from the interception fell into a residential area in Dhahran. Relevant authorities are currently dealing with the situation, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

In another statement, the Coalition spokesperson said that a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi group toward Haradh was intercepted and destroyed.

Earlier, the Coalition spokesperson Al-Malki stated that the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command had established that the Houthi group was using civilian objects and vital resources to support its war effort, the SPA reported.

These included Al-Sabaha Central Station in Sanaa, underground reserve fuel storage facilities, fuel tanks, and berths designated for transporting and unloading fuel in Al-Hodeidah, Sanaa, and Dhamar, the Coalition spokesperson said.

Major General Turki Al-Malki said that the Houthi group has been using these facilities to directly support its terrorist military operations, depriving the Yemeni people of the benefits of resources that should be legitimately allocated to meeting their needs.

The Coalition spokesperson said the Houthi group has used these sites in their entirety to support its war effort by supplying its arsenal of missiles and UAVs, which threaten Saudi Arabia and the safety of airports, ports, and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.

Major General Turki Al-Malki said that this has demonstrably contributed to the execution of hostile attacks against civilians and civilian objects, as well as the planning of imminent attacks against civilian objects in Saudi Arabia and commercial vessels in international waterways.

Accordingly, this operation focused on neutralising the capabilities used by the Houthi militia to threaten the Kingdom, Yemen, the southern Red Sea, and waterways, the spokesperson said.

The Coalition Forces reaffirmed their strict commitment to international humanitarian law. They took all feasible precautions to avoid incidental civilian casualties or damage to civilian property during the planning and execution of this operation.

Al-Malki said: “The Houthi militias must immediately cease all terrorist operations targeting civilians and civilian objects, including airports, ports, oil facilities, and infrastructure.”
