N’DJAMENA, Chad: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) distributed 1,000 food baskets on Friday in Ouaddaï Province of Chad, benefiting 6,000 of those most in need.
The assistance is part of Saudi Arabia’s relief and humanitarian efforts through KSrelief to help people in need and affected communities worldwide, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Meanwhile, KSrelief signed a cooperation agreement via video conference to implement an orphan care project in Syria.
KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs Engineer Ahmed Al-Baiz signed the agreement, SPA reported.

Under the agreement, monthly financial support will go to orphans to meet their basic needs for food, housing, healthcare, and education.
The project will also include recreational activities and the distribution of toys, school bags, and stationery, directly benefiting 1,000 orphans in the governorates of Deir ez-Zor, Homs, and Hama.
The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian and relief efforts through KSrelief to support the Syrian people, care for orphans, alleviate their suffering, and provide the necessities for a decent life.
Meanwhile, Assistant Supervisor General of KSrelief for Planning and Development Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi met on Sunday with Deputy Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Beth Bechdol in Riyadh, according to SPA.

The meeting reviewed issues of mutual interest in the relief and humanitarian fields and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination in providing food to the most vulnerable people around the world.
Bechdol commended KSrelief’s humanitarian and relief efforts and its numerous projects and programs implemented in countries worldwide, which have had a lasting impact on affected communities.
