RIYADH: Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s national carrier, has announced two additional weekly flights between Riyadh and London Heathrow, increasing its service to nine flights per week from the current daily schedule.

The airline launched its London Heathrow service on June 10, 2026, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

It currently operates eight aircraft to 14 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with plans to offer almost 30 destinations for booking by the end of 2026.

The additional return services, scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays, will operate as daytime flights from Riyadh to London, followed by overnight departures from London to Riyadh.

The expanded schedule will begin on November 2, providing passengers with greater flexibility for business travel, short breaks and extended weekends.

Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas said: Since launching our London service four months ago, we have continued to build our presence in the UK by launching flights to Manchester and now increasing two additional roundtrip flights to Heathrow.

“The additional flights help us meet the growing demand on this important route while giving guests more choice and flexibility while strengthening the connection between Riyadh and London,” he said.

The carrier has ambitious expansion plans and aims to connect more than 100 international destinations within the next five years. To support its growth strategy, Riyadh Air has already ordered 132 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 25 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, with options for additional purchases in the future.

Saudi Arabia aims to increase annual air traffic to 330 million passengers by the end of the decade as it prepares to host major global events, including Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
