KYIV, Ukraine: Russian strikes across Ukraine killed eight people, according to Ukrainian authorities, as Moscow continued military operations following a warning that it would pursue the war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia had launched around 3,900 drones, aerial bombs and missiles against Ukraine over the past week.
Strikes hit multiple Ukrainian regions
Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi said a Russian strike hit a children’s centre in the northern city of Sumy, killing three people, including a 16-year-old girl.
Zelensky said three people were killed in overnight strikes in the southern Zaporizhzhia region, while a Russian drone attack in Kyiv killed one person.
Authorities in the Odesa region also reported one death following what they described as a major strike on the Black Sea area.

Civilian infrastructure targeted, Ukraine says

Russia reports military targets hit
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its strikes targeted a Kyivstar data centre in Kyiv and another facility linked to Omega Telecom, claiming the companies provided services to the Ukrainian military.
The ministry also released an image of a drone carrying the message “Digital Detox”, saying the strikes aimed to disrupt internet access.
The latest attacks came after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the UN General Assembly on Saturday that Moscow intended to continue its military campaign.
Diplomatic efforts led by the United States have so far failed to produce a breakthrough, while the United Nations has warned of the continued impact of the conflict on civilians.
