NAGOYA, Japan: Pakistan’s Noor Zaman has secured a place in the men’s singles squash semi-finals at the 2026 Asian Games after defeating Hong Kong’s Leung Chi Hin Henry in a four-game quarter-final contest.
Zaman recorded a 3-1 victory in a fast-paced 28-minute match at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena on Friday.
Noor Zaman is a rising Pakistani squash player from Peshawar, born on April 1, 2004.
He comes from a renowned squash family, with his father Munawar Zaman as his coach and legendary 1975 British Open champion Qamar Zaman as his grandfather.
Zaman recovers after third-game setback
The Pakistani player made a strong start, winning the opening game 11-7 before extending his lead with an 11-6 victory in the second game.
Leung responded in the third game, taking it 11-3 to put pressure on Zaman and keep the match alive.

However, Zaman regained control in the fourth game and sealed the victory with an 11-4 win to book his place in the last four.
Asim Khan and Mehwish Ali exit mixed doubles
Earlier, Pakistan’s mixed doubles pair Asim Khan and Mehwish Ali were eliminated from the squash competition after losing to Hong Kong’s Tse Yee Lam Toby and Lai Cheuk Nam in the quarter-finals.
The Hong Kong pair secured a straight-game victory, winning 11-6 and 11-7 to complete a 20-minute win at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena.
Pakistan’s pair struggled to match Hong Kong’s consistency as Tse and Lai maintained control throughout the contest.
