ADEN, Yemen: Saudi aid agency King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s (KSrelief) Masam project for clearing mines from Yemeni lands removed 1,303 mines from various areas across Yemen during the second week of September 2026, including one anti-personnel mine, 18 anti-tank mines, 1,276 unexploded ordnance items, and eight explosive devices.
The number of mines removed since the beginning of September has thus risen to 2,166, while the total number of mines removed since the launch of the Masam project has reached 590,491, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The mines had been planted indiscriminately across various areas of Yemen, threatening the lives of innocent children, women, and elderly people and instilling fear among civilians.
Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to clear mines from Yemeni lands under a project that enhances civilian safety and contributes to enabling the Yemeni people to lead dignified and secure lives.
