HULUNBUIR, China: Pakistan overturned a two-goal deficit with four unanswered strikes to defeat Malaysia 4-2 and claim the bronze medal at the 2026 Men’s Junior Asia Cup at the Moqi Training Base on Sunday.

The Men in Green were rocked by two early goals but produced a spirited second-half response, with Rana Abdul Sami scoring twice to bring Pakistan level before Muhammad Shaheer and Waleed Rana completed the turnaround.

Malaysia struck first in the 11th minute when Adam Ashraf Johari converted a field goal. Shafiq Ammar Fahmi Suzaini then extended the lead two minutes later by successfully converting a penalty corner.

Pakistan returned from the interval with renewed determination. Rana Abdul Sami pulled one back through a field goal in the 34th minute and struck again in the 47th minute to level the contest at 2-2.
The momentum remained firmly with Pakistan, who moved ahead five minutes later when Muhammad Shaheer converted a penalty corner.
Waleed Rana put the result beyond doubt in the 56th minute, converting a penalty stroke to complete Pakistan’s impressive four-goal comeback and secure the bronze medal.

Pakistan had topped Group B with a perfect 12 points after winning all four matches.
They began with a 15-0 thrashing of Kazakhstan, followed it with a 4-2 victory over China and then defeated Malaysia 5-2. A 3-0 win over Bangladesh completed their unbeaten group-stage campaign.

The Men in Green were denied a place in the final after losing 4-1 to Korea in the semi-final, but they responded strongly to finish the tournament on the podium.
