BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan could unleash 21-year-old fast bowler Razaullah against England in the third Test at Edgbaston, allowing the highly rated pacer to test his raw pace and wicket-taking ability against an experienced batting line-up.

The Mardan-born bowler has earned his place in Pakistan’s Test squad after an impressive start to his first-class career, taking 30 wickets in just eight matches at an average of 20.86. With Pakistan considering changes to their bowling attack for the series finale, Razaullah is among the candidates for a maiden Test cap.

Razaullah has emerged as one of Pakistan’s most intriguing young pace prospects after a rapid rise through domestic cricket. The Pakistan Cricket Board lists him as a right-arm medium-fast bowler who has represented Peshawar Region, Pakistan Gold and Rawalpindiz, among other sides.

Razaullah’s Rapid Domestic Rise

Born on April 5, 2005, Razaullah made his first-class debut in November 2025 and has already taken 30 wickets in eight first-class matches.

His numbers underline why Pakistan’s selectors have moved quickly. Razaullah’s 30 first-class wickets have come at an average of 20.86, with three five-wicket hauls and best innings figures of 5-37.

He has also shown useful ability with the bat, scoring 333 first-class runs at an average of 27.75, including a century and a fifty.

Razaullah gained further exposure during the 2026 Pakistan Super League with Rawalpindiz. PCB records show he played two PSL matches and claimed three wickets.

Reports around his domestic performances have also highlighted his pace, with the young bowler clocked above 146 kilometres per hour.

Test Debut Now Within Reach

Razaullah’s opportunity has arrived as Pakistan consider reshaping their attack for the Edgbaston Test.

If the visitors opt for four fast bowlers, he is among the strongest candidates to receive a first Test cap.

A debut would complete a remarkable rise for a player who entered first-class cricket less than a year ago and now finds himself on the verge of representing Pakistan in one of Test cricket’s most demanding environments.

For Razaullah, Edgbaston could be the stage where domestic promise turns into an international career at the highest level.
