JERUSALEM: Israeli forces imposed a curfew on Palestinians in Shuafat refugee camp and nearby Anata in occupied East Jerusalem on Monday, as troops, military vehicles and bulldozers carried out raids in the two areas amid a broader escalation of Israeli military and settler activity across the occupied West Bank.
The Jerusalem Governorate said Israeli forces entered Shuafat and Anata under a heavy military presence and announced the curfew over loudspeakers.
The raids came as illegal Israeli settlers carried out attacks and expanded activity in several parts of the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian official news agency WAFA, Voice of Palestine radio and local witnesses.

In Burqa, east of Ramallah, settlers entered the village and moved through its streets. Others reportedly erected a tent on Mount Al-Qarana near Deir Abu Mashal, north-west of Ramallah.
Near Al-Mughayyir, north-east of Ramallah, settlers were seen moving timber towards illegal settlement outposts, raising concerns among Palestinians over further expansion onto their land.
In Hebron, a Palestinian woman’s vehicle was attacked and its windows were smashed, Voice of Palestine reported.
South of Yatta, settlers re-established an illegal outpost in Wadi al-Rakhim only hours after Israeli forces had dismantled it, according to local activist Osama Makhamra, cited by Anadolu.
Israeli forces also raided Khirbet Imneizil, south-east of Yatta, entering a Palestinian home and damaging property inside.
Land Clearing Continues
In the northern West Bank’s Salfit governorate, Israeli forces and settlers continued clearing Palestinian land north-west of Deir Ballut for an 11th consecutive day, according to WAFA.
The incidents add to a wider pattern of settler violence, military raids and land seizures reported across the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission said 3,488 settler attacks were recorded across the occupied territory during the first half of 2026.
The latest developments have heightened concerns among Palestinians over expanding settlement activity and growing restrictions on movement in areas under Israeli military control.
