TUNIS, Tunisia: The Arab Interior Ministers Council has strongly condemned the Iranian attacks against several Arab nations, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law.
The General Secretariat of the council on Wednesday said the heinous aggression carried out by Tehran with ballistic missiles and drones against Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait is against the principles of good-neighbourliness.
It described the aggression as part of Iran’s continued hostile conduct and efforts to destabilise security and stability in the region and threaten international peace and security.

It reaffirmed its full solidarity with Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and other Arab countries in their measures to protect their security and sovereignty, safeguard their territorial integrity, and ensure the safety of their citizens and residents.
Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain intercept new Iranian attacks
Earlier, Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain said they intercepted new attacks by Tehran overnight, while Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said early on that it had launched an attack on US bases in Iraq’s Erbil with drones and missiles.
Jordan said it intercepted and destroyed 10 ballistic missiles launched from Iran. Three other missiles fell in remote areas, the official Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported early Wednesday. No casualties were reported.
The Kuwaiti military also said its air defences intercepted “hostile drone attacks” coming from Iran. It added that the explosions heard across the Gulf state were caused by the interception operations. Bahrain said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed Iranian drones over the country.
Iran had earlier said it targeted US military bases in Jordan in response to previous US attacks.
Trump warns of stronger response
US President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that Tehran would face attacks at “a much harder and higher level” if it retaliated against the US strikes.
Washington also announced a new sanctions campaign on 24 August aimed at further isolating Tehran and expanding secondary sanctions against countries and entities supporting the country.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said at a G20 finance ministers meeting that many US allies had “come forward and said they will do whatever is necessary” regarding the sanctions.
Iranian officials and state media have largely dismissed the latest sanctions as a continuation of previous US economic measures.
