MEXICO CITY: Up to 20.6 million foreign visitors/tourists arrived in Mexico by air in 2022, an increase of 46.3 percent from the previous year, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
Official figures on tourists
Majority of the international tourists came from the Canada, United States and Colombia, reaching 15.6 million in total, an increase of 39.5 percent from 2021, according to official figures on Sunday.
Around 4,981,000 tourists of other nationalities also reached the country sugesting an increase of 72.7 percent compared to 2021. It also represented a market share of 24.2 percent, according to the ministry.
