QUETTA: A former member of the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) has publicly renounced terrorism, surrendered his association with the group and appealed to Baloch youth not to be misled by terrorist organisations or their propaganda.
Speaking in a recorded statement, Arman Baloch said he had travelled to Iran with a friend in search of employment but was allegedly abducted by militants and taken to mountainous hideouts, where he was recruited into the banned outfit.
Forced Recruitment
According to Arman Baloch, he met BLF commander Qamar Brohi after being taken to the camps and later became associated with the organisation.
He said he remained with the group for six months, during which he received military training and participated in two attacks in the Tump and Balida areas of Balochistan.
Decision to Leave
Arman Baloch said he later realised that joining the organisation had been a mistake and decided to leave the group and return home.
However, he said that when he expressed his intention to quit, he was subjected to violence by members of the organisation.
He said he had now severed all ties with the banned outfit and pledged never to engage in any unlawful activity again.
“I seek forgiveness from the state institutions and will never become involved in illegal activities in the future,” he said.
Appeal to Baloch Youth
Addressing young people in Balochistan, Arman Baloch urged them not to fall victim to what he described as the propaganda and false promises of terrorist organisations.
He appealed to the youth to remain loyal to Pakistan and contribute positively to society as responsible citizens.
Officials say such public renunciations reflect growing disillusionment among members of banned terrorist groups and reinforce efforts to discourage young people from joining violent organisations.
