AMMAN: The Foreign Ministers of the R-4 Group, comprising Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkiye, on Wednesday reiterated their unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent.
Egyptian Foreign Minister, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan said an independent, sovereign Palestinian State should be established on the basis of the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Foreign Ministers of the R-4 Group, comprising the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Republic of Türkiye, met in Amman on 5 August 2026.

During the meeting on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Amman, they reaffirmed that a just, comprehensive, and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue remains indispensable to achieving enduring peace and stability in the Middle East.
The ministers also discussed the evolving regional situation and reaffirmed the importance of continued consultations and close coordination among the four countries to promote regional stability. They stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain vital tools for preventing further escalation and advancing peace and security in the region.
Pakistan, Turkiye exchange views on regional issues
Earlier, Ishaq Dar held a separate meeting with the Foreign Minister of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan, where the two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Pakistan, Egypt discuss regional and global developments
Ishaq Dar also held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Egypt, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, and discussed regional and international developments.
They also exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.

Pakistan, Algeria vow to enhance trade cooperation
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister met with Foreign Minister of Algeria, Ahmad Attaf, where the two leaders discussed Pakistan-Algeria bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, information technology, agriculture, and other areas of mutual interest.
Appreciating their regular exchanges, the two Foreign Ministers agreed to remain closely engaged to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Exchanging views on regional and international developments, including the situation in Occupied East Jerusalem and recent developments relating to Iran, Foreign Minister Attaf appreciated Pakistan’s continued constructive role and diplomatic efforts in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar had a cordial exchange with his counterpart from Iraq, Fuad Hussein, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Amman.

Pakistan reiterates unwavering support for Palestine
Earlier, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Islamabad’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and called for the protection of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem during a ministerial meeting on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories held in Amman, Jordan.

He made the remarks while addressing the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
He voiced deep concern over the deteriorating situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly Occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Dar condemned continued Israeli violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, illegal settlement expansion, settler violence, and attempts to alter the historical and legal status of the holy sites.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian Holy Sites in Jerusalem and stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over Occupied East Jerusalem.
Worsening situation in occupied Palestinian territories
The ministerial meeting is convened to discuss the worsening situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and to coordinate Arab and Islamic efforts aimed at safeguarding Jerusalem’s holy sites and advancing international support for the Palestinian cause.
The meeting brings together foreign ministers from Arab League member states and several Islamic countries to discuss the worsening situation in occupied Jerusalem.
