Pakistan Sweeps Bangladesh to Clinch Central Asian Volleyball Championship Title

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan produced a masterclass in volleyball dominance on Wednesday, sweeping past Bangladesh 3-0 in the final of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Volleyball Championship at the Liaquat Gymnasium to secure their third continental title.

The Green Shirts’ triumph, which adds to their previous victories in 2022 and 2024, was sealed with a flawless campaign that saw them win every match without dropping a single set throughout the week-long tournament.


The home side launched the summit clash with electrifying intent, claiming the opening set 25-20 before raising their game to an even higher level in the second, which they clinched 25-16.

Pakistan maintained their momentum in the third set, closing out the match with a 25-20 victory to round off a thoroughly convincing performance in front of a passionate home crowd.

A campaign of unmatched dominance

Pakistan’s path to the final was a testament to their sheer superiority in the tournament. The national team opened their campaign with a straight-set victory over Sri Lanka on July 22, followed by an identical 3-0 result against Bangladesh the following day.

They continued their dominant run by outclassing Nepal, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan in their remaining league-stage fixtures, finishing unbeaten at the top of the standings.

In Tuesday’s semi-final, Pakistan faced Sri Lanka once again and stormed into the final with yet another straight-set victory, extending their incredible run of set victories to 15 consecutive sets without reply. The feat underscored the team’s exceptional form, tactical discipline, and mental resilience throughout the championship.
