RIYADH: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Arab Parliament, and the Muslim World League (MWL) on Monday strongly condemned the attempted drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, describing them as a serious violation of the Kingdom’s security and stability and posing a threat to regional security.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Albudaiwi on Monday condemned the attempted drone attack targeting Saudi Arabia, launched by Iran-backed militias in Iraq, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Albudaiwi stressed that the attack represents a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of international law, and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region.
He reaffirmed the GCC’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Arab Parliament condemns attacks on Saudi Arabia
Meanwhile, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi strongly condemned the drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, stating that such hostile acts constitute a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s security and stability and pose a threat to regional security, SPA reported.
In a statement, Al-Yamahi reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting all threats to its security and stability. He stressed that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Arab national security.
He also emphasised the parliament’s support for all efforts and measures undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to safeguard its security and protect its territory and national assets.
MWL condemns drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia
The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the UAV attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, launched by Iranian-backed terrorist militias in Iraq, and praised the high level of efficiency demonstrated by the Kingdom’s security forces in intercepting and thwarting the attacks, SPA reported.
In a statement, Secretary-General of MWL and Chairman of the Organisation of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa denounced the attacks as treacherous and criminal acts that violate religious values as well as international law and humanitarian norms.
On behalf of the league’s councils, bodies, and global assemblies, and the Muslim communities it represents, Al-Issa reaffirmed the MWL’s full solidarity with the Kingdom in all measures it takes to deter aggression, safeguard its security and sovereignty, and protect its citizens and residents.
He also prayed for the continued protection of the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people from all harm.
