JEDDAH: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud held a telephone conversation on Monday with newly appointed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, extending his congratulations on the latter’s appointment and expressing confidence in his success.
During the call, the Crown Prince underscored the long-standing and distinguished relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, highlighting the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.
Prime Minister Burnham thanked the Crown Prince for his warm congratulations and conveyed his appreciation for the goodwill extended by the Saudi leadership, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The conversation also focused on regional security, with the British prime minister strongly condemning attacks carried out by the Houthi militia and denouncing the group’s continued threats to freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
He reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s support for Saudi Arabia’s security and sovereignty amid ongoing regional tensions.
The two leaders reviewed existing areas of bilateral cooperation and discussed opportunities to deepen collaboration across various sectors. They also exchanged views on several regional and international developments of mutual interest, reaffirming the importance of continued coordination on issues affecting regional stability and global security.
