RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the terrorist plots that sought to undermine public order and the safety of individuals and property in Morocco.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Tuesday, affirmed its solidarity with the government and people of Morocco and reiterated its unequivocal rejection of all forms of terrorism, extremism, and attempts to undermine the security and stability of Morocco and its brotherly people.

The Kingdom also lauded the efforts and efficiency of the Moroccan security authorities in safeguarding security and swiftly foiling these cowardly terrorist plots, and wished the Kingdom of Morocco and its people continued security, stability, and prosperity.

Moroccan authorities announced on Monday that security forces carried out nationwide raids, arresting 10 individuals involved in foiled terrorist plots linked to the ISIS affiliate operating in the Sahel region.

The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations, which operates under the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, said in a statement that it thwarted “terrorist plots” that aimed at seriously undermining public order and the safety of people and property.

The bureau said 10 suspects were arrested in the cities of Agadir, Taroudant, Tetouan, El Hajeb, Fquih Ben Salah, Casablanca and Safi.

Authorities also seized bladed weapons and equipment that investigators said were intended for use in the attack plans.
