ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Acting Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz in Jeddah, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Taif Governor Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud, and several members of the Saudi royal family, state-run APP reported on Friday.
During the meeting, Naqvi expressed Pakistan’s appreciation for the outstanding arrangements made by Saudi authorities for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims. He thanked the Acting Governor of the Makkah Region for ensuring high-quality services and facilities for millions of worshippers, including pilgrims from Pakistan.
Prince Saud bin Mishaal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s strong commitment to its enduring partnership with Pakistan and pledged continued cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The Acting Governor also welcomed the recently signed agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation, describing it as an important milestone in expanding sporting ties between the two countries.
Prince Saud said his administration would extend every possible assistance to the PCB in facilitating the stadium’s construction, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s growing interest in promoting cricket.
The meeting underscored the deep diplomatic, religious, and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, while reaffirming both countries’ commitment to broadening cooperation across multiple sectors, including sports and regional development.
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on Wednesday also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding scientific, training and research cooperation.
The MoU was signed following a meeting between Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the longstanding relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and discussed ways to further enhance security cooperation and coordination between their interior ministries, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
