WASHINGTON: Meta Platforms Inc’s social media applications were down on Wednesday for thousands of users in the US, outage tracking website Downdetector.com said.

Over 12,000 social media users across Instagram reported issues with accessing the application, and around 8,000 incidents were reported for the social media platform. Outage claimed that WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger were also downed in the US.
Meta did not immediately react to Reuters’ request for comment over the matter.
