RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s aid agency, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), has signed a joint implementation agreement with a human development and skills-focused organisation to rehabilitate six hospitals and establish three oxygen-generation units across Sudan.
The programme is expected to benefit approximately three million people directly, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The project will provide essential medical equipment for emergency, intensive care, trauma, operating theatre, paediatric, inpatient, recovery, medical imaging, and laboratory departments.
It also includes the establishment of three oxygen-generation units at the targeted hospitals, the installation of oxygen systems and related equipment, and specialised training for medical and technical staff on their operation and maintenance.
The agreement forms part of a broader series of humanitarian and relief initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom through KSrelief to strengthen healthcare systems, improve the quality of medical services, and expand access to treatment for patients in need around the world.
