Pakistan, Japan Welcome US-Iran Peace Understanding

Tokyo commends Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts and stresses continued engagement for regional stability.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Japan have welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and Iran, describing it as an important development for regional stability and the wider international community, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.

The development came during a telephone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and his Japanese counterpart, Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi.

During the discussion, both leaders underscored the significance of the US-Iran understanding and expressed hope that it would contribute to peace and stability in the region as well as promote broader international security.

According to the Foreign Office, the Japanese foreign minister conveyed Tokyo’s deep appreciation for Pakistan’s sustained diplomatic engagement and constructive role throughout the process. He commended Islamabad’s efforts, saying they had helped facilitate and advance the outcome achieved between Washington and Tehran.

The two sides also reaffirmed the importance of maintaining diplomatic dialogue and agreed to remain in close contact through regular exchanges. They stressed the need to further strengthen bilateral relations and enhance coordination on issues of mutual interest.

The conversation reflected the shared commitment of Pakistan and Japan to supporting peaceful engagement and promoting stability through dialogue and diplomacy.
