ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Panjgur district of southwestern Balochistan on June 3–4, 2026, following reports of the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy, Fitna al Hindustan.
According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Friday, security personnel effectively engaged multiple terrorist hideouts during the operation. After an intense exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed.
The ISPR stated that the killed terrorists were involved in activities sponsored from across the border and had been engaged in carrying out various acts of terrorism in the region.
The military’s media wing further said that weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and a vehicle were recovered from the site following the operation. It added that the recovered materials were linked to the killed terrorists, who had been involved in multiple incidents of unrest and terrorist activity in the area.
Following the operation, sanitisation efforts are underway to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining threats. Security forces continue to conduct follow-up searches to eliminate any remaining terrorist presence in the region.
The ISPR also reiterated that Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, remains in full effect.
It stated that security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations at full pace to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Authorities said the broader counterterrorism drive would continue in coordination with civil and military institutions to ensure long-term stability and security across Pakistan’s border regions.
