RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 17 “Indian-sponsored” terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar, and Ketch districts of Balochistan province, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.

The intelligence-based counterterrorism operations were conducted in Balochistan after the train incident on 24 May 2026.

During the conduct of these counterterrorism operations, security forces effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

“Following intense and fierce exchanges of fire, seventeen terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Hindustan have been sent to hell, giving a significant blow to the terrorist networks operating in these areas,” ISPR said.

Fitna-al-Hindustan is an official term designated by the Pakistani government to refer collectively to all terrorist groups operating in the Balochistan province.

Security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition, a large cache of explosives and prepared Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the killed terrorists, the ISPR said.

The terrorists were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area, ISPR added.

“Sanitisation operations continue to eliminate terrorists from these areas as a relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” ISPR said.

The series of counterterrorism operations comes more than a week after a blast near a railway track in Quetta on May 24 left several people martyred and injured.
