RIYADH: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre has launched the distribution of emergency food and shelter assistance in Hadhramaut Governorate as part of the second phase of its emergency food intervention project in Yemen.

The aid package includes 5,760 food baskets, 635 tents, and 78 shelter kits, benefiting around 38,000 people from affected and vulnerable families, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

The initiative aims to strengthen food security, meet essential humanitarian needs, and provide suitable shelter for families impacted by recent heavy rainfall and flooding across the governorate.

Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut Hassan Al-Jilani praised the efforts of the Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, in supporting vulnerable communities and enhancing food security.

He stressed the importance of delivering the assistance ahead of Eid Al-Adha to help ease the hardship faced by families in need.

The initiative forms part of the wider humanitarian and relief programmes implemented by Saudi Arabia through KSrelief to improve living conditions and support the humanitarian situation across Yemen.
