Pakistan President Invites Chinese Investment in Clean Energy, EV Technologies

ISLAMABAD:   Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has called for deeper economic cooperation with China, inviting increased investment in key priority sectors such as alternative energy, water treatment, and electric vehicle battery systems.

President Zardari was talking to the CEO of Hangzhou Jinjiang Group, Wang Jian, in Sanya, Hainan province, Radio Pakistan reported on Wednesday.

The President highlighted that Pakistan is actively promoting foreign investment across a range of sectors, with particular emphasis on water treatment, electric vehicle battery systems, and alternative energy.

He noted that such collaborations can play a vital role in driving sustainable growth and strengthening industrial development.

He added that the Government of Sindh would provide full facilitation to international investors, especially those entering the market through public–private partnership frameworks.

During the meeting, it was shared that Hangzhou Jinjiang Group is already involved in several projects in Pakistan.

The company is ranked among China’s top 100 business groups and operates across diverse sectors, including heavy industry, fertiliser, oil and gas, coal gasification, renewable energy, agriculture, and irrigation.

President Asif Ali Zardari has undertaken a series of engagements during his visit to China, including the signing of multiple memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as water desalination, agricultural technology, and the tea industry.
