KARACHI: International cricketers featuring in HBL Pakistan Super League (HBL PSL) 11 have been seen enjoying a wide range of traditional Pakistani dishes, offering a glimpse into the country’s rich culinary culture alongside the ongoing cricket action.
In a recently shared video, players sampled popular local items including golgappay, beef bihari, chicken rolls, mutton ribs and kulfi falooda, reacting enthusiastically as they explored new flavours.

New Zealand batter Mark Chapman, who plays for Islamabad United, introduced the session as players gathered to try traditional food during a break from the tournament.
“This is as good as any food I’ve eaten all around the world,” one player said, while others described the dishes as “outstanding” and “honestly amazing”.
Players impressed by variety
From street food to slow-cooked meals, the reactions reflected strong appreciation. Chicken rolls and mutton ribs received top ratings of “10 out of 10”, while beef bihari and nihari were praised for their tenderness and flavour.
Players also highlighted the balance of spices, with comments such as “very soft” and “a nice little hint of spice at the back end”.
Desserts proved equally popular, with kulfi falooda drawing praise for its taste and texture. “That was so nice to finish with,” one player said, while another added, “I really love kulfi”.
“I would love to keep eating once the cameras stop rolling,” a player remarked, as teammates continued sampling dishes and sharing reactions.
The moments come as foreign players continue to engage with local culture during the tournament, experiencing food and traditions alongside their on-field commitments.
