Saudi Crown Prince, Ukrainian President Discuss Regional, Global Developments

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on Friday discussed regional and international developments during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Jeddah.

They reviewed aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, areas of cooperation, and opportunities to further develop them, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

They also reviewed regional and international developments, with particular focus on the situation in the Middle East and the latest updates on the Ukraine crisis.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah; Minister of State, Cabinet Member, and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban; Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov; Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha; and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Andrii.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine arrived in Jeddah. He was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz and other senior officials, SPA reported.

“Yesterday, at a meeting with European leaders, we secured financial guarantees for our resilience. Today, we are advancing our agreements with Saudi Arabia in the areas of security, energy, and infrastructure,” Zelensky said in a post on X upon arrival in the Kingdom.
