RIYADH: Saudi Arabia, along with UNESCO, will co-host the fourth edition of the Global Forum on the Ethics of AI in Riyadh from September 14 to 17, 2026.

The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) will organise the event in collaboration with the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

Saudi Arabia continues to expand its international collaboration with UNESCO while reinforcing its commitment to advancing ethical frameworks for artificial intelligence.

A key contributor to these efforts is the International Centre for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), a UNESCO Category 2 centre based in Riyadh, which plays an important role in promoting global research and policy development in AI ethics.

Hosting the forum highlights the Kingdom’s dedication to responsible AI use and its ambition to help shape a fair, inclusive digital future, while supporting progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.

The UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of AI provides a high-level platform for addressing both the challenges and opportunities presented by AI technologies.

It brings together global policymakers, experts, ministers, and representatives from international organisations to encourage the implementation of shared principles and to ensure that technological innovation aligns with social responsibility.

Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the forum in Riyadh aligns with the declaration of 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence.

It also coincides with preparations for the fourth Global AI Summit, scheduled for September 15 to 17, 2026.

Held under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the event further strengthens Riyadh’s growing status as a global hub for major AI initiatives and international gatherings.
