JERUSALEM: The Israeli Ministry of Defence has placed procurement orders valued at approximately $200 million for the supply of advanced airborne munitions from Israeli defence manufacturer Elbit Systems, according to reports.

The deal comes as part of Israel’s ongoing military operations linked to the conflict with Iran, as reported by Al Jazeera. The order is intended to enhance the operational capabilities of the Israeli Air Force at a time of heightened regional hostilities.

In an official statement, Elbit Systems highlighted its “technological leadership in air-launched weapon systems”, expressing pride in its “longstanding partnership with the Israeli Ministry of Defence”. The company further stated that its munitions are “among the factors enabling the Israeli Air Force’s air superiority”.

The latest procurement underscores Israel’s continued investment in precision-guided and advanced aerial weaponry, reinforcing its defence posture amid escalating security challenges in the region.
