KARACHI: Islamabad United registered a commanding nine-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars in a lopsided Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 contest at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday, clinching their third win of the season.
Set a meager target of 101 runs, United lost only a single wicket and completed the chase inside 11 overs, propelled by a sensational unbeaten knock from Devon Conway.

Conway and Faiq steer chase
Islamabad’s reply got off to a nervous start when Shaheen Afridi dismissed opener Sameer Minhas for five runs off eight balls on the first delivery of the third over. But Conway quickly took charge, joining forces with Mohammad Faiq to steady the innings.
The pair added a brisk half-century partnership, taking United past the 50-run mark by the sixth over. Conway was in devastating touch, reaching his maiden PSL fifty with a flurry of boundaries. He remained unbeaten on 59 off just 35 balls, smashing seven fours and three sixes.
Faiq provided solid support with a blistering 34 off 19 deliveries, including six boundaries, as United cruised to victory without breaking a sweat.

Spin trio wrecks Lahore’s batting lineup
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars were bundled out for a disappointing 100 in 18.3 overs, thanks to a ruthless display from Islamabad’s spinners. Imad Wasim struck on the second ball of the match, removing Mohammad Naeem for a golden duck.
Haseebullah Khan (19) and Abdullah Shafique (10) attempted to rebuild with a 26-run stand, but Imad returned to dismiss Shafique. Chris Green then clean-bowled Haseebullah, and captain Shadab Khan sent back Rubin Hermann for four, leaving Lahore reeling at 41-4.
Late resistance falls short
Asif Ali (15) and Sikandar Raza (25) added 31 runs to push the total past 50, but Shadab broke the partnership by removing Asif. Chris Green then dismissed debutant Ryan Burl for two before claiming his third wicket by bowling Raza.
Richard Gleeson wrapped up the tail, taking two wickets in quick succession, while Faheem Ashraf claimed the final scalp of Shaheen Afridi in the 19th over.
