LAHORE: Multan Sultans registered a significant Pakistan Super League (PSL) record on Wednesday by completing the highest successful run chase at the Gaddafi Stadium during their third match of PSL 11 against Hyderabad Kingsmen.

Powered by a superb century from Sahibzada Farhan, the Sultans chased down a daunting target, surpassing the previous best at the venue. That earlier record had been set in the same edition when Peshawar Zalmi successfully chased 215 against RawalPindiz.
Batting first, Hyderabad Kingsmen posted an imposing total of 225-5 in their 20 overs, built around strong half-centuries from Maaz Sadaqat and Sharjeel Khan. Maaz led the scoring with a rapid 62 off 26 balls, while Sharjeel remained unbeaten on 51.
For Multan, Mohammad Wasim Jr stood out with the ball, picking up two wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz, Peter Siddle and skipper Ashton Turner chipped in with one wicket each.
In response, Multan Sultans chased down the 226-run target with four wickets in hand and eight deliveries remaining. The innings was anchored by Farhan, who remained unbeaten on 106 from 57 balls, striking eight sixes and seven fours.
He was well supported by Steve Smith, who scored 46, and Shan Masood, who added 29. Farhan then guided the side to victory alongside Arafat Minhas, who contributed a quick unbeaten 26 off 11 deliveries.
For Hyderabad, Saim Ayub claimed two wickets but was expensive, while Maheesh Theekshana and Hassan Khan picked up one wicket each.
