LAHORE: Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have announced the signing of Zimbabwe all-rounder Ryan Burl as a direct pick ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season. The franchise confirmed the development on social media, stating that Burl is their final addition for PSL 11, taking the squad to a total of 20 players.
The 31-year-old becomes the second Zimbabwean in the Qalandars line-up alongside national T20I captain Sikandar Raza. Burl is set to make his PSL debut, having previously featured in leagues such as the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and ILT20. In 37 BPL matches, he has scored 620 runs at a strike rate of 127.57, including one half-century, while also picking up 13 wickets.
At the international level, Burl has played 118 T20Is for Zimbabwe, amassing 1,948 runs at a strike rate of 124.95 with four fifties, in addition to taking 62 wickets.
The 11th edition of the PSL, scheduled from 26 March to 3 May, marks the first time eight teams will compete, with Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindi joining the tournament. A total of 44 matches will be played over 39 days.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has revised plans, limiting matches to Karachi and Lahore, all behind closed doors. Lahore will host the Eliminators and final, while Karachi stages the Qualifier, with improved broadcast features promised for fans worldwide.
