ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday briefed Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Islamabad’s diplomatic outreach and peace efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.
During the telephone conversation with the Qatari Amir, PM Sharif expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict in the region, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Qatar and other Gulf countries, conveying condolences over the loss of lives.
“He reiterated strong condemnation of attacks against Qatar and other brotherly Gulf countries and expressed profound sorrow over the loss of precious lives in these attacks, while praying for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the Prime Minister’s office said.
PM Sharif assured the Amir of Qatar and the people of Qatar of Pakistan’s full solidarity and support during this difficult time.
Appreciating Qatar’s remarkable restraint in the current situation, the Prime Minister briefed the Amir on Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and peace efforts.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Pakistan has consistently urged all parties to de-escalate tensions and resolve their differences through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Qatari Amir appreciated Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic efforts for regional peace. The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days.

Earlier, PM Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and reaffirmed Islamabad’s strong support for the Kingdom.
During their warm and cordial conversation, the Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt Eid ul-Fitr greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to the Crown Prince, and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Pakistani premier strongly condemned recent attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and reiterated his country’s unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom.
He emphasised that Pakistan stands firmly with Saudi Arabia during challenging times, highlighting the deep-rooted relationship built on mutual support.

PM Sharif also appreciated Saudi Arabia’s measured response to the current situation, praising its restraint amid escalating tensions.
He stressed the importance of avoiding further escalation and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities to restore stability in the region.
Underscoring the broader implications of the crisis, the prime minister urged greater unity among Muslim nations, saying cohesion within the Ummah is critical in navigating regional challenges.
The conversation also focused on diplomatic efforts to defuse tensions. Sharif briefed the Crown Prince on Pakistan’s ongoing outreach aimed at promoting dialogue and peaceful resolution among all parties involved.
Saudi Arabia welcomed these efforts, with both leaders agreeing to remain in close coordination moving forward.
