KARACHI: Former Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions Quetta Gladiators have announced their captain and coaching staff for the upcoming 11th edition of the tournament, set to take place from 26 March to 3 May.
Saud Shakeel has been handed the captaincy, while ex-Pakistan wicketkeeper Moin Khan will take charge as head coach. Former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed team director.
The support staff includes Iqbal Imam as assistant coach and former fast bowler Wahab Riaz as bowling coach, with Azam Khan serving as team manager.
In squad developments, the franchise has signed West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph as a replacement for Australia’s Spencer Johnson, who is unavailable due to personal reasons. The change was confirmed through the team’s official social media platforms.
Six venues
PSL 11 will feature eight teams, including new entrants Pindiz and Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, competing in a total of 44 matches over 39 days.
The tournament will begin with defending champions Lahore Qalandars facing Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen on 26 March. Each side will play 10 group-stage matches, with the top four advancing to the playoffs. The final is scheduled for 3 May at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, with a reserve day on 4 May.
Matches will be played across six venues — Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Peshawar — with Faisalabad and Peshawar hosting PSL fixtures for the first time.
Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host the most matches (15), followed by Rawalpindi (11), Faisalabad (seven), Karachi (six) and Multan (four). Peshawar will host one match on 28 March.
