RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call on Sunday from French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot during which the two sides discussed latest regional developments.
During the call, the two diplomats discussed the latest regional developments and their implications for regional and international security and stability, a Foreign Ministry statement said.

The conflict, now more than two weeks old, has seen sustained military action from both sides since US and Israeli forces launched attacks on Iran on February 28.
The tensions have centred on the Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s crude oil normally passes.
Iranian attacks on vessels and shipping infrastructure have severely disrupted maritime traffic in the strategic waterway linking the Gulf to the Arabian Sea.
Trump signals no immediate deal
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said Washington is not prepared to strike a deal with Iran to end the ongoing conflict, indicating that the United States and its ally Israel will continue military operations until more favorable terms emerge.
In an interview with NBC News, Trump suggested that Tehran appeared eager to negotiate but insisted the current conditions were not acceptable to Washington.
He added that US forces could even consider further strikes on Iran’s strategic oil facilities, including Kharg Island, which serves as the country’s primary oil export hub.
