The statement reflects growing international interest in Pakistan’s digital sector as the government moves to expand connectivity and develop next-generation telecommunications infrastructure.
Pakistan recently concluded the first phase of what officials described as the country’s largest International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) spectrum auction, involving about 480 MHz of spectrum aimed at expanding high-speed connectivity across the country.
Officials say the additional spectrum will significantly enhance the capacity and quality of existing 4G services and establish the technological foundation required for the 5G network.
Fifth-generation mobile technology is widely expected to support advanced digital applications, including artificial intelligence, smart infrastructure, industrial automation and high-speed data services.
The development forms part of Pakistan’s broader push to accelerate digital transformation, expand broadband access and strengthen the country’s technology ecosystem as demand for data and digital services continues to grow.
